Yup def live sand is a great way to filtrate your trites and trates...I've known people to run live rock and live sand with a skimmer only and be very successful....next tank i do is gonna be live sand...

If i had to choose i'd run vhos.....but def get a coupla mh's...prolly run u about 250 for a nice pair.....let me know if ur interested i'll let u know if i happen to run across a good deal....

I'd have to say do things slowly....What i'd do is take out 1/3 or the water from your 55 and use that to cure the new sand your going to use....then when u switch tanks you wont cycle ur tank and kill all ur lil frends....even after u add the new sand and 70 gals or so of water, you'll still be...

I'd suggested adding a 10 or 20 gal refugium if u wanna add lights and live rock and sand....live rock or sand wont work without lights and no use to add lights w/o rocks or sand i run a 155 wet/dry with a skimmer and its enough for my aggressive tank.

A bow front stand for my 155 cost about $300 and looks at least 10x better and is 10x stronger than anything i've seen yet. I used the best wood and stain from home depot . But if u were budgeted you could build a nice stand for under $200. If you have the time and the tools, I'd def say build...

no it def will not melt...i sit my 260 watt right on top of the plastic spacers on top of my 155 and it doesn't even fade it..

My clown rarely leaves the return corner of my 155 tank....all that space and he claims the lil corner...he stays away from my rocks and decorations and all.....But he'll attack me as soon as i put my hand in the water tho...lol funny lil guy
