    Dolphin 900 pump

Well I've tried in vain to find a Dolphin "900" product listing with any of the online sources I use. Are you sure you have the model number right? Just wondering, Paul

    where can I find a ballast for 2 55w pc's

I think the simplest thing to do is give AHSUPPLY a call and ask if they'd sell you just the ballast, they seem like pretty nice folks. Just my .02, Paul

    Massive Fish die-off this am

I *think* the word in question "reciept" is possibly "recipe", I think Sally Jo at Garf has a "recipe" of reef additives she uses in her tanks. Just a thought, Paul

    acryllic vs. glass

Lr or LS...to broke for both!

Nope your rockers are still on. Given time live rock will "create" live sand, for that matter, if time is not an issue, a little chunk of live rock will seed both base rock and sand. Obviously, the more "live" rock you have the quicker the seeding and cycling process. Just my .02, Paul

    Glue and Sealant

Well I'm not sure about the stuff at big al's online store but everyone I've talked to that has built or is building a tank has used GE Silicone I for their tanks. I'm sorry but I couldn't bring myself to spend 13 bucks for a tube of the same stuff that HD sells for 3 bucks. It's the belief of...

    DIY tank...

I've never done it but you're right, sounds like a fun project. Regarding the corners, I don't think there will be any difference in the strength of the corners since you're using acrylic, might be a little difference if you were trying to do it in a wood/glass combo. Go for it and keep us up to...

    how much to

Slick I have no idea what they charge but I would imagine it would have a lot more to do with what they want you to do than the size. Daily maintenance, bi-weekly? Feedings? You know all those kinda things. Also it would vary based on who supplies what, salt, test chems, food etc. Sorry I...

How should I light my 125?

Far from an expert here but that's never stopped me before so ... it's my understanding that Mh generally should be set up with one every 2 feet so on your tank I'd go with three, one left, one right and one middle, 250 Watts each should be more than enough for that depth. Just my thoughts, Paul

    question about water temps

    question about water temps

 OMG! Also, just to make sure, I checked the indoor portion to the wall thermostat and the outdoor probe portion to a old-fashioned "hold under the tongue" type. *sigh* Journal entry Tuesday November 12th, 2002: Today my image of Broomer has been shattered. Later, Paul P.S. hey Broomer...

What's the best hang-on skimmer ever?

Best hang on skimmer ever? hmmmmm my guess is that, much like computers, it's the one that's announced the day after the "no questions asked exchange policy period" ends on whatever one I buy :o Later, Paul

    question about water temps

After setting up my sump I've noticed something kinda wierd that I'm sure someone (probably that repository of interesting facts, Broomer) could rationalize for me. My house A/C is set for 77, and 77 is where it stays, why is the sump consistantly holding at 72-73? Just strikes me as a bit odd...

    "Double decker" tanks! Anyone?

hmmmm well you have a major problem with the size of the tanks even ignoring the stand issue. 1st we have the height of the tanks themselves, if you have a 150 gallon tank that's 6 feet long and 18 inches wide, it's going to be 1" inch high for every 5.5 gallons = about 28 inches plus, let's say...
