Yes, better not take the chance. It would depend on the size as opposed to the tank, if the rock is well scrubbed with really litte die off on it but I still would not take the chance. Cure it in your QT.

You might also look into an aquarium controller so you can monitor some of the aquariums parameters over the weekends. Or at least set it up to notify you if something is wrong. For example the Lighthouse Controller (there are also others) can email you if you temp, pH, Orp, go out or a range...

I would think you would be able to adjust the output to whatever level you wanted. 10K, 14K, 20K. I'm not sure but I do know that LED output is easily controllable.
