    Supplemental invertebrate food

They will eat any leftover food they can find. Feeding 3 times a day is a lot unlerss you feed very small amounts. Fish don't need to eat as often as people. They go for day without eating. Once a day or once every 2 days is fine.

    1 piece of live rock

Yes, better not take the chance. It would depend on the size as opposed to the tank, if the rock is well scrubbed with really litte die off on it but I still would not take the chance. Cure it in your QT.

    Stocking a weekday only tank?

You might also look into an aquarium controller so you can monitor some of the aquariums parameters over the weekends. Or at least set it up to notify you if something is wrong. For example the Lighthouse Controller (there are also others) can email you if you temp, pH, Orp, go out or a range...

    LED vs. MH

I would think you would be able to adjust the output to whatever level you wanted. 10K, 14K, 20K. I'm not sure but I do know that LED output is easily controllable.

Very nice work tony detroit. Here is just a bit of constructive critisizm but I can tell you not much since you did a great job. Under WATERFLOW - you state not to use RIO. I highly disagree. In the past they had problems but for the last year the RIO pumps have performed admirably and are very...

You can have a tang in there as long as you plan on upgrading to a larger tank before the tang gets to big.

    help trigger fish

Also you can get some of those feeding items like raw shrimp, scallops, clam, squid from your local grocery store. Chop it up in a blender real good and add some vitamins like vita-chem flatten into a sheet and freeze. Break the sheets into pieces to put in some sealed baggies and feed as...

    ph level

I would not consider your pH low. what you want to be concerned more about is that it is stable. For example if your pH is 7.9 and dips down to nearly 7.8 at night, it's not bad as long as it doesn't dip more then .1. Seawater ranges from 7.8 to 8.3 but you don't want your pH to swing through...

ordering while the temp is 30

I really question whether it's a good idea to order when it is cold. I live in Tucson and even though it doesn't get as cold as most places (30-70) i have never received anything that wasn't dangerously cold. In fact I ordered from this site and the items arrived cold even though they were...
