You should not need to run a skimmer tell after you cycle is over. Running a skimmer during the cycling process can acually prolong the length of the cycle.

Do any of you blend in Nori or algae sheets with your meats for the omnivours?

I currently have two percs, 3 green chromis and have not had any problems. If anything the Banggai are the one doing the harrassing. They all get along really well. I would also recommend maybe some firfish gobies and/or a royal gramma.

Coral Beauty and Yellow Tang will probably need live rock to graze on but the rest of your fish will do fine with no live rock or sand. You can keep a very nice fish only tank without live rock, but some of the more delicate fish will need live rock. (angels, tangs, manderine gobies).

Banggai are conivours and should eat most any meaty diet. ie. clams, shrimp mollusks. Mine are pigs and eat just about anything I throw in the tank.

Neon Gobies I believe are cleaner fish. The tang should seek out and let the neon clean the parasites from its body and they should be very friendly with one another.

If you have shrimp or large hermits, perhaps they like the taste of your mexican snails. Just a thought though.

I hope you don't take offense to this, but maybe you should put him out of his missery. I would prefer that, then slowly starving to death. If his jaw is "BROKEN", I highly dought he is going to recover before he starves. It would be more humane to put him down, I'm sure he is in a lot of pain.

Deffinately not a full black perc. I have a balck perc and it looks nothing like that exept for the black and white stripes. I would lean towards a black perc and a Clarkii/Sebae hybrid.
