    it doesnt look like lava rock to me. It is just very pourous. The rock in the middle (biggest one) is a bunch of coral pieces stuck together..

    OK, so maybe I could get away with using like 75lbs of the pourous rock in my 75 gallon tank. Think that will pretty much equal the useage of using 2lbs per gallon with not-so-pourous rock?

    maybe try to re-arrange them and create some tunnels thruought the rock for the fish to swim thru, but be careful cuz if it isnt sturdy enough, it might cave in!

    amoo-carb is simple.. carbon and ammo chips (ammo removes ammonia levels). Comes mixed together or you can buy separate and mix yourself.

    need a free photo resizer? CLICK HERE < [hr] click that.. make it no bigger then 100 x 100 and less then 10k.. u just typed in 100 for height or width and it auto adjust the other to make pic look right. then adjust the quality to lower file size... If you click resize and need to adjust it...

    LIVE SAND/ROCK Question

    you can look for broken pieces of coral on the beach while u are there.. ship me a few pounds for the suggestion I do not believe it is illegal to take sand from a beach, but you will most likely bring home alot more then just sand. sift thru it and find all sorts of life!

    I noticed alot of the live rock at my lfs is pretty pourous. Does this make it better then the more solid rock? Or can I get away with using less weight of the pourous type? The more pourous it is, the less it weighs and bigger it is... and the more places for things to hide
