    Clams under VHO

That lfs off of n kelley right? I was there once. Did not like what I saw in her sell tanks. She had a couple nice display tanks though. Thought she closed too, drove by the place once or twice in the past year and did not see any signs of business.

    Southdown Playsand

A couple days ago I tried to special order from home depot and they refused to do it. I would have to order an entire pallet of it, and even then I'd have to pay for the truck to haul it out here from thier supplier. If I knew enough fellow marine aquariusts here we could split the price, but I...

    Another Question for you all....

A yellowtail damsel is pretty bright although its a very territorial fish. Its a bright neon blue with a canary yellow tail. Can't miss it. You could put a flame angel in a tank that small I think. Those fish are gorgeous, and stay small.

    refugium

I've read on some posts that if your refugium is separate from your sump, you ought to go with a slower water flow than your main circulation. I don't remember what post or how slow of a flow to go though, a shark would know alot more than me.

    phosphates

If you have an emperor 400, you ought to be able to put it in the gray plastic media holders that come with that filter.

    Southdown playsand?

Would any live sand sold by an online retailer be good, or do some retailers try to save some money and just send you some aragonite thats been sitting in saltwater for a week? I want to get some HIGH quality sand for my tank. I have been burned in the past buying live sand (got twenty pounds of...

    fish per gallon

I've read on this board in various posts that a general guideline of number of fish per gallon is 1 inch of fish per 3 gallons. Does this mean one inch of length, or one inch of girth? I would think a fat fish might produce more waste than a skinny fish of close to the same length, I may be...

    Spongebob

Try Toys r us maybe? They might have a little plastic Spongebob character that you can stick in the tank.

    The Best Aquarium to visit

There is a freshwater aquarium in Kentucky thats on par with the quality of the Monterey Bay aquarium, but its freshwater only. I THINK there is the Shedd Aquarium in the Chicago area too. Not sure on the name of it. Ths Smithsonian in DC has a zoo with an invert exhibit. There is the National...

    Opinions on Plenum's

I just had a thought on maybe why my tank crashed. I recently replaced the pump on the tank with a Little Giant pump, the pump I replaced wasa Quiet One. Well reason i replaced that pump was because it had developed some sort of internal leak and salt-creep had blown the rear seal out ever so...

    Opinions on Plenum's

I haven't the foggiest idea why it crashed out. Was running fun for several months, I was doing my water changes and topping off like a good aquariust should, then everything started to die off. My ph was testing out at about 8.2, no ammonia, no nitrites, and practically no nitrates. I assume my...
