    skimmer overflowing..

:notsure: sorry jdkld75, the picture that you sent really wasn't clear enough!! But the connection between the main body and the collection cup, where a blk rubber 'o' ring is located? The water level should be below it. The foam should be bubbling up and slowly goes into the collection cup...

    skimmer overflowing..

 I use the same model, on top of the inlet pipe, there should be a blk turn-valve, turn it counter clockwise until the water flow slow right down. Leave at this setting for a few days and let you skimmer break-in. Then slowly turn back up a bit at a time until the water in the skimmer...

    just got a 29g tank

welcome to the saltwater world. I agreed with Razor, don't use a fresh water tank as a stepping stone!! Totally different exprience. I will suggest for start, get a lot of Live Rocks, and use Live Sand, DO NOT use Crashed Coral! Salt mix of cause, and let the cycle begin... and then start...

    Good News

 Exciting, isn't it?? Spending so many days looking at an empty tank, and all of a sudden, you know you will have something moving in there. Be steady, don't rush things and add too many in one go, and follow acclimation recommandations!! Good luck! Post some pictures!! :happyfish

I was also very interested in the diamond goby - I love how it feeds in sand and filters it out through its gills. Incredible!! Definitely, addition of this little baby is so fun to watch!!:happyfish

    Protein Skimmer/Cloudy Water

:scared: Twice daily is way to much !! I feed mine every other days. If you have lots of LR, you don't have to feed that much anyways, lot of little small worms or insects for them to eat !! Cut down your feeding!! You could get a protein skimmer, but only if you need them, if is a FOT, save...

    Protein Skimmer/Cloudy Water

what kind of sand are you using? How often do you feed you fishes? Protein skimmers will help a lot if the problem is over feeding. But I don't know:thinking:

    Spitting out food?

 my clowns do that too!! I think they are very picky about their food. I found out that if I feed them too big a piece they don't like it. BTW they hate green veggie stuff, I start feeding them small pellets (I have to grind them even smaller), and they are eating fine since!!:happyfish

    stocking a 29 gallon....suggestions?

I agree. Looks like 30lbs of lr only! How much did they charge You??! I would suggest to stack them up to create more gaps between them. Also leave a lot of room around the lr to avoid dead spots!
