Orbit Marine IC Pro Dual LED - Bluetooth

So you are saying I should keep the default settings instead of the 12k I was leaning toward changing it too?

Orbit Marine IC Pro Dual LED - Bluetooth

I just picked up the IC Pro Dual to replace my aging TrueLumen Pro system I previously had installed. I really do enjoy the BT interface on the app and easily being able to change the timing of the system along with being able to customize the color as well. That being said...the system came...

Current USA TrueLumen LED Lights - Can I 'Cut & Butt' since 12v?

Yes, I ordered an OEM 12v Converter for the lights. The 12v converter will plug into the 1st LED moonlight (not butting that connecton). The subsequent connections will be shorted and connected. I am not extending any leads, only shortening. #1 rule of wiring, no live power! Thanks for the response!

Current USA TrueLumen LED Lights - Can I 'Cut & Butt' since 12v?

I am looking at doing a custom install of some Current USA LED Lunar Lights and I was curious if I can just 'Cut & Butt" the wires together for a cleaner install? They plug into a 12v converter so we are not talking about high voltage here, correct? I deal with 12v wiring in the marine (boat)...

Coralife Aqualight Elite - Any good?

You have the BIG version, I have the 48", the light fixture is no heavier than any other, actually probably as light as most high powered ones (excluding the LED's now). Sure the ballasts do weight a lot, but normal for the magnetic ones. You really should Craigslist it, no shipping, and some...

Coralife Aqualight Elite - Any good?

Yeah, a lot of wasted words there :) I was following up my post because it came up when I was doing a search on something related to it (see the 12' post above). Anyway, sounds like some weird stuff with your light. I got him in 08' and it has been flawless since. Never had to replace a ballast...

Coralife Aqualight Elite - Any good?

Almost 4 years later I bring this thread back up....so I purchased new electronics ballasts for this fixture, but I read you have to remove the 'starter' when going from magnetic to electronic ballasts. I can't find or don't seem to have a starter. I have taken the fixture apart. The current...

Lumatek 250W vs CoralVue LuXcore 250W Ballast

Thanks for the response. The cost includes 2 ballasts (for the 2 MH's) plus the wiring kit needed to switch it over. The bulbs were recently replaced so they are fine for now, but yes, it is a cost not associated with the LED's every year. The tank is a 110g XHI (48" x 18" x 30"). I need...

Lumatek 250W vs CoralVue LuXcore 250W Ballast

Only 5 views so far and not a single response by someone who has done this, even to another fixture?! What happened to this forum?! I have not been here in a while, looks like traffic has really slowed :(

Lumatek 250W vs CoralVue LuXcore 250W Ballast

I just spoke to a certain retailer who advised me that my best bet would be to go with the Lumatek ballasts. He said they are basically identical and I could not go wrong with either...however...the Lumatek ballast comes with a power cord to run up to the light, which the CoralVue does not. This...

Lumatek 250W vs CoralVue LuXcore 250W Ballast

I did a search, but nothing came up, well nothing after 07'. I want to replace my old magnetic ballasts and go electronic. I was going to get the newest Lumatek 250W one (does 150w, 175w, & 250w), but they are back-ordered about 2 weeks. My other option is the new CoralVue LuXcore Ballast (does...

Which 14000k 250w MH is 'less blue'?

Follow up: I went with the Hamilton 250w 14000k's and did the install yesterday, very happy! They are not anywhere near as blue as the AquaMaxx, and they seem a LOT brighter in the tank. My wife & and a couple friends commented how much better than tank looks with the new lights. At that time I...

Which 14000k 250w MH is 'less blue'?

I called an 'on-line' retailer (no names) to discuss the bulbs. They confirmed the AquaMaxx was almost a 20k with the blue hut and they said the Ushio was very white (the rep I spoke to was actually running those in his system). If I wanted something in the middle he recommended the XM's or the...
