    Breeding skunk cleaners

to have successful luck in doing it you would be far better off trying it in a fuge setup rather then a tank with just a LR. the larva have 7 stages of planktonic form before they metamorphous into actual shrimp. during this time they are very delicate and weak and can be damaged by any...

    AHHHH Cloudy Water

very little. bacteria do live in the water but its a very small amount. the only benifite to it is IMO the water is more closely matched to what the fish/corals are being kept in when you use old water. kc

    AHHHH Cloudy Water

with just replacing the substrate no. your rock should be fully curred allready and any cycle you'll get from adding new substrate will be minimal and easily taken care of with a water change if needed (most likely wont need to do one) kc

    AHHHH Cloudy Water

time is the best thing. bacteria will form on the particals of sand in the water and cause it to sink and stay down, over time you'll not get sandstorms when something disturbs the sand. kc

    sump/fuge ?'s

it would really depend on the design of the stand. the stand on my 75 has a middle piece between the two doors but it's just a place for the doors to meet on. my 180g stand has a fully open back, i built it that way to get the sump in the stand. the sump is 72x24x18 kc

    Mushroom ?

as mentioned they will do this when reaching for light, they also do it just before they 'pinch' the cap off of themselves in an attempt to propagate. the cap will detach and float around the tank and settle somewhere and start a new colony. hth kc

    Baffle spacing?

it really depends on the width and height of the baffles as well as the flow you have through them. if you get them to close for the width/height/flow of the sump they will suck any bubbles along with the water flow rather then trap them out. hth kc
