to kick or not to kick?HELP!

Usually places like GNC (i.e. Health food stores) have Kyolic water-soluble garlic. Kyolic is a food suppliment. I've also seen an assortment of water-soluble garlic extract food seasining at high-end grocery stores. Be careful to avoid any unwanted preservitives.

    Cleaner Shrimp/Coral Banded

I think you can have both with the shark. You'll just have to remember to suppliment the Shark's diet with other foodstuffs, as you're Shark can't live off of CBSs and Cleaner Shrimp alone. :p

    Quarantine Tank

You'll also want to make sure to put plenty of hiding places in the Q-tank. I've found that PVC pipes, etc. work great as they're easily cleaned. Your fish will get stressed if they can't hide. I use a cheapo hang-on filter for my 20 gal. Q-Tank. If you're going to be using copper, you should...

    feeding Mandarine in QT???

I think Trey is right on. I have never heard of a Mandarain being infected by a parasite. They often have white spots that are mistaken for ich - these are usually small pieces of substrate sticking to their slime coat. I even noticed that in one of my books... "Consciencious Marine Aquariast...

Simple D.I.Y. Refugium Plans & Pic

Right now, they're running 24x7. Once my Macro has filled out the refugium, I'll set it up with a timer come on and off at opposite times from my main tank. This is supposed to help stabilize PH swings. When the lights are on and photosynthesis is occuring, CO2 is taken up, oxygen is produced...

Is there a salt water tank cleaning fish?

Look for this guy... I've seen shops refer to them as Lamnmower Blennies, Plain Blennies, etc. Also, get a cleanup kit from a site like SW fish. In Saltwater, inverts are the best cleaners.

    I got the Mandarine

If you've got a smaller tank and want a fat, & happy Mandarain, get a hang-on refugium! Example pic of CPR Aquafuge It will feed lots of Copepods/Amphepods to your tank and help in controlling Nitrates/Phosphates.

Should I Treat Him or Not?

Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Eye him closely and continue with the garlic feedings for about a month. Remember, just because you don't see Ich doesn't mean it's not in the water. Garlic will help you in repelling the nasties when they come back to find a host. Ich Life-Cycle A=...

    percula question

Your tank is a bit packed. If you were to add a clown, I'd say go with a Tomato or maybe a big Maroon. They're tough clowns.

    Sump w/out dividers?

This is how I'm building them... The dividers are important to regulate flow. They are also relatively easy to add so fear not... a little plexiglass from Home Depot, a cut with a utility knife, bend until the plexi snaps, apply aquarium sealant, wait 48 hrs and voulla! Also, you can make the...

Simple D.I.Y. Refugium Plans & Pic

Here's a lousy pic. of the type of refugium I've been making from old aquariums. The last one I built was out of a 20 long. My next one will be out of a 50 long. Be sure you build the sump/refugium out of a tank large enough to give you a big safety margin (i.e. lots of gallons between the...

    help with ick treatment!!!

Panchito, Two points that come to mind from reading your posts: 1. You might want to use the search feature on this board for freshwater dip tips. Two minutes seems a bit quick for a really bad reaction. I think the idea is that the freshwater for dipping is as close to the water in the main...
