    10 gallon fuge/reef

you don't need the holgens - get PC's instead - they are pretty cheap for a 10 gal tank ($80)

    hairs on my coraline?

coiuld be anuthing at this point. Wait and see - probably tiny tube worms - my tank in now full of them. If they start to populate everything get a Sally Lgithfoot crab. It'll eat 'em all!

    Tap Water Purifier

you made the same mistake I made - throw it out. Go to your local grocery store and buy (reverse osmosis water) drinking water. Since you are just buying the purifier you probalby have a new setup.. Some mushrooms needs a stable tank to survive. It may be you just jumped the gun on the...

What is your technique for feeding a serpent star?

I HAVE THREE - TWO Love to be hand fed - I touch thier tenticle and then give them food and they take it to their mouth. the third hides under a rock and waits until the lights are out to eat.

    hang on filtration?

First - in order to have a reef aquarium - You don't even need filtration if you set it up right. the Modified Berlin Method uses Live Rock, a Deep Sand bed, and a protien skimmer, a couple of power heads to move the water around and weelky water changes and have 25 snails/hermits and a few...

False Perc Vs True Perc Clown?

You usually can tell by the black dividing the white and orange. On a true perc it's much more profound whereas on the ocellaris it's much thinner. I personally like the ocellaris - they are silly swimmers, eat out of my hand, are less expensive and less aggressive than true percs.

How many fish for 30 gal.

30 Gal - couple of clowns, some damsels and maybe one pigmy angel. try alot of interts - star fish, crabs, feather dusters, mushroom polyps and keep the fish to a minimum. that way it's like a reef echo system vice a fish tank! You could even think about some urchins - they are neat - fire...

    Just posted pics

very nice LR setup. I wouldn't change a thing!!! That's one of the best LR setup I've seen!!! Any more LR and it would take away from the whoel design. Great Job!!

    inverts in tank

Simple Answer is YES _ I sauggest you buy small piece of LR anyway - it helps keep the inverts busy. Heck you know you can throw in clean coral pieces into the tank you get from ***** and after a while it'll be at least something to climb on.

    Seeding a dsb with critters

Seeding takes alot of work. Buy a few pieces of small LR and some established live Sand (like 1 lb) and stuff will slowly grow. I now have half inch starfish all over the tank and through my sand (I did nothing but add aragonite sand and throw in Live rock. I bought a piece of LR that was...

    white curly things

They're Tube worms - they will make your tank look very cycled. I suggest you leave them on the back of the tank and remove them everywhere else. That way they don't disrupt your view but show the tank's progress.

    Whats happening to my snails

I LOST ALL OF MY MARGARITA SNAILS TOO. Stick with Astrea - they do the job and are nearly indistructible. Of course they are very boring to look at - but they are a good addition to a cleaning crew.

    what is this????????

Your PH is low - should be between 8.2-8.4 (mine is 8.0) but 7.8 is too low. I doubt that this is your only problem. I would suggest that if you aren't already to go to Reverse Osmosis water (can get it at Safeway) if you're not using it already. I would also suggest you try 10% water changes...

    some suggestions please

I'm a bit less agressive - I think a tank with willing participants who are entertaining: Racoons, Angles, Clowns, maybe a safe tang or so. I have three tangs, two clowns, a flame angel and couple of damsels. I would suggest that you make sure you put your LR so the fish can swim over but not...

starfish and a flame hawkfish ?

compatibility chart says "caution" - I would watch closely and be prepared to move the starfish if needed.

I think I'm ready..can I add all these at once?

I am not sure whether you made your decision yet but here's my two cents ( as usual I will go against the grain) Go to the LPS and get yourself a couple of ocellaris clowns. Leave these guys in the tank for about another three weeks and then make the rest of your purchase on line. the two fish...

    Fish Fat Farm!

Kev's right - I really fget upset at the local saltwater distributor because he barely feeds the fish. They don't feed the tangs in the coral/LR curing tank at all - they assume they'll eat enough algae to survive. these fish look so skinny it't awful. My fish are fed twice daily and they're...
