    yellow watchman help

If he's the only fish it's possible that he won't burrow. I have a mated pair in my refugium and they hang out under the chaetomorpha algae mass on the surface of the sand. When they were in my DT with other fish (percieved predators) they created a nice big home with 2 exits for a quick...

Nearly ready to setup 75 gallon, questions?

#1 I had a problem with clear water in my qt and it finally cleared up after running a bio wheel for a week. What is going to clear the water in the 75 gallon tank? Should I be running a filter as well as a skimmer? The skimmer will take out the dissolved particles - running some other type...

    New fish this weekend

How about a Pseudochromis Diadema (it's where I got my name :)) Otherwise known as dottyback. Stay clear of the purple/strawberry dottyback... But most of the others are pretty tame.

    Conch is Missing

sure. I had a fighting conch that used to hide for weeks at a time. Couple questions: what size tank how old is the tank what do you have living in there (fish wize) Keep an eye out for his eyestalks peeking up from under the sand. Generally if they're buried, they're peeking up to watch for...

    Live Rock Stacking

I personally have some of my rock leaning on the back. I used to have a couple pieces touching the side but over time, it looks horrible as you can't get in close enough to clean. I recommend at lease 2-3" of open space on the sides, but leaning against the back is fine. If you're worried...

    temp to high

You could also change your lighting cycle to fit better to your viewing times. Since your tank is just cycling now - why not just have the lights turn on an hour or so before you get home and turn off when you go to bed?

    How many tangs ?

Naso in a 125 isn't a good plan long term. I'd say a set of 3 small yellows or purples would do okay. But you'll want to add whatever other fish you want (hopefully not too many) first. Agressive tangs such as yellows or purples do not tolerate newcomers well.

If you were stocking a 500g

I'd have a reef with a schoal of small tangs.

    Large angle for a reef??

    how about 260 degrees?

    Cleanup crew

Not sure I agree.... The astrea snails will not be fine with leftovers... Once the algae is gone - they will die. Although the feeding of DT's (in the correct manner) will help algae grow on the glass for them to eat hopefully. For the rest of them - I would suggest you sink a cocktail shrimp...

    skimmer question

the lower the waterline is (below the collection cup) the drier the skimmate.

    Which way to go?

It's gotta be reef... with that much rock, sharks aren't gonna be happy in a 300. Also - double check the wattage on the PCs... :scared:

    skimmer question

It depends on your preference of skimmate. For a wet skimmate, the waterlevel in the riser tube should be a few inches below the collection cup. For a drier skimmate - several inches below. I run an ETS skimmer and keep the waterlevel about 20 inches below the collection cup.

    waiting period between adding corals?

Personally, I prefer to space them out. Corals are fickle creatures. Sometimes even with correct water perameters, they can have problems. 1 coral that dies isn't generally a problem for a tank - however 5 or 6 that die at once and sit in your tank dying for 8 hours while you're at work...

oo my god!!!!,look what i found in my overflow.please indentifi.ASAP!!!!!

To me it looks like a peanut worm that had a run in with a pump impellor. Might have made it's way through your return pump and ended up coming back into the overflow... Pretty nasty looking..

    aggresive or not?

I agree that going with a community tank is the way to go. But there are definitely some smaller agressive fish that could do okay in a 55... No triggers though.

Lots of Green Coraline Algae, but no Red

If you can find someone locally to scrape off some of their algae you can add that to the tank. I have TONS of plating red coralline in my tank. For some reason it out competes the purple and pink. I'll send you some if you want. You pay the couple bucks shipping. Post your e-mail and I'll...
