    Interesting article...

Amen, right up there with colored/dyed blood parrots. A tank in my LFS looks like the Easter Bunny's basket blew up.

    anyone kept henniochus?

Pretty much the same as most butterfly's. Some will eat polyps, some won't. Supposodly the schooling bannerfish are reef safe while the long finned heni is not. It's hard to differentiate between the two. Good luck with yours. I think they look great. They just have me uneasy in a reef...

    Impressive Replacment Fish

All of those mentioned will be "awesome" once they grow up. If you want to add something now that's a little bigger and adds some flash I would recommend a coris wrasse or perhaps a harlequin. Here's my red corris to give you an idea:

    Overflow question

Been there/done that and can testify. Low return with overflow is a "headache." Enough to make me abandon the whole fuge thing. To me Broomer's bleed off design is the only surefire way to run a fuge. Good Luck!

    Overflow Gods I need help

Having the ball valve up out of the water will make you life a little easier. I would also add a "union." This allows you to remove the pump for service without having to take your ball valve and additional pvc apart. As for cutting your flexible hose, go ahead and size it to best fit. Leave...

    Ot-(pop-ups)

Hey ROCK! Sounds like you have some kind of ad-ware or spy ware. These are programs that are often loaded without your knowledge. The idea is to bug you with advertisement and/or track your surfing habits. A program like spybot will go through your system and find programs that do this sort of...

    Reef Setup

It will work. Just watch your bioload and match it to your capabilities. I'm curious, why the cannister AND wet/dry?

New Stocking Idea, what do you think?

I like the pairing idea and your stocking level is conservative so that's great. No bioload issues that I can see. Make sure you have pairs. Not all sets of clowns will mate up and although they may be fine while young, as they age they will not be friends. Most goby's don't care for other...

    Pistol Shrimp and Goby

So far no problems with other shrimp. There are four peppermints and a scarlet cleaner in the tank as well. All inhabitants were moved into the 55 within a week of each other. (New shipment plus old guys from my 46 bowfront I took down) I think that has helped since no one really had claimed...

    firefish and gramma

my RG makes his way around the tank. Has his preferred areas but much more active than my ff. I have them in separate tanks. I know RGs are supposed to be assertive but mine has always taken the back seat to the new guys. Must have got a shy one!

    Pistol Shrimp and Goby

Doxboi; the relationship they should have is kinda like room mates. The shrimp takes on keeping the apartment tidy while the goby keeps an eye out for harassing neighbors. That's how it works in the wild. These two are just cohabitating at the moment. Not sure if either one is pulling their...

    feeding snowflake question

Mine probably eats 3 times a week. He's about 12" and 1 to 1.5 medium shrimp and he's fine. It's not always shrimp. Sometimes, squid, octupus, fish, mussels. Try not to give him the same thing twice in a row. Just stay with it and you'll come to know his needs. Good Luck!

    Aptasia and Boiling Water

The syringe I have is a 30 unit diabetic syringe. Will 30 units of boiling water be sufficient? Kip, should I make the paste the consistency of like toothpaste and just release a little around it's tenticles? Do I need to remove the aptasia or just let it disolve. I have several in my hawk...
