I know that Maxijets are the best to use with wavemakers (wavemaster pro) but they don't have one that has a gph of more than 295. Is there anyother powerhead that can be used (mechanicly safe) that has a gph of at least 4-600?

This isn't really a poll but what temp and salinity do you keep your reef at? When I started at sw about a year and a half ago, most people told me the optimun temp for a reef is 76-78F and salinity is 1.021 - 1.023. I got a great book on coral reefs for xmas and was reading about the two...

I'm with Josh, My tangs love love it. The bubble though, yes get some emerald crabs. I purchased 3 of them the other day and most all my bubble is gone!!

run a bak pak on my 55g. works perfect.

I was going to try this a while back but by popular demand, most people I talked to, say it is a pain in the ***. I don't think it is worth the trouble. This is just my opinion though. Good luck if you decide to do it.

what kind of fish if any do you have in the tank. Tangs will eat that up like crazy. I agree with kimmisue, it will start to get out of control. If you keep the growth "contained" you should be alright. Better bet would be to put it in your sump. you will need a light down there though.

One of my lfs has one that is about 11 inches. I don't know what the full adult size is though. I would look very carefully at that.

I think the best way to acclimate anything is to float them and every 5 minutes or so add about 5oz of your tank water into the container with the specimen. The best luck that i have had and the best advice i got from someone is to add the same amount of your tank water to that of the fish store...
