    alkilinity

Well, I kind of agree with Sam. My ph is a constant 8.4 and my alk has dropped to 1.5. That's pretty low!! I used to have a nice constant alk level at 3.5. "I can't keep it up" <--- no pun intended!.

    Friend Offered Emrald Crab

I just purchased 3 that are about 1/2" body length yesterday. They are neat to have if you have trouble algae or bubble. That one that you were offered, I wouldn't consider putting in my 55 gallon let alone a 16 gallon. But one that is small first. My 2.

    Anyone dissatisfied with ZOOMED powerheads?

Bummer, I was just about to get two of them. Is there any other power head on the market that will do the sweeping feature? It is a shame, I would rather be able to use this feature than have to spend a hundred on special powerheads and a wave timer.

I'll tell you what, the HD here sells only South Down stuff. All garden rocks, small and large as well as 2 different kinds of sand. I guess that we "east coast" people are just kind of lucky. :p

    Best care for anemones??

I have purchased, in the past, about 3 anemones. 1 long tent. and 2 seabeas. I am able to keep them for about 3 months then they seem to just die. I have a 55 gal standard with 257w worth of light. 2 96w PC and 1 65w PC. This is 4.6w per gallon. All testing is done on a regular basis. The only...

    Is it volume or length??

I am looking to upgrade my tank. I have someone that is getting rid of a 150 gallon tank that is close to 48"x30"x30". It is a nice "cube" looking tank. When you rate your 5 gal per inch of fish, is it the volume of the tank or is it length that is better. In other words, would one provide a...

MAGNUM 350 Pro System VS regular Wet/Dry Filter

I just replaced my Magnum 350 Pro with a 10 gallon sump that I put together. Sonny is right, the Magnum is a nitrate factory. I could never keep mine down. Also true about teh bio balls. If you buy the wet dry toss the balls out and just use it as a sump. my opinion.

LFS - do you really believe what they say???

This is more of a gripe than a question. I bought an Acrylic Creations external U tube overflow with a 1" dia. drain and the LFS that sold it to me said that it has a 800 gph rate. He also told me that a rio 2500 open full with no restriction would be fine. Well, I have it all set up and I will...
