Try adding some small power heads to move the water around. I put mine on pvc,, and pump the water down so it moves along the bottom.

It sounds like you have cynobacteria. You may need to add 2 small powerheads to water flow. Do you use RO/DI water? Do you have CC or sand bed?

I put my sump in the basement, keeps a more even temp.

I would get some rubber maid tubs and save all I could.

Sounds lile you have good rock. I would tank it right away.

Snails do a real good job.

If it doesn't smell real bad, or have black, soft spots on it you are good to go.

Most fish love to swim in and out of the rocks. It's a win, win.
